Junior girls Jordan Prust and Rachel Powell both put in an extremely brave effort at the Burntwood Aquathlon on Sunday 4 March. Racing in appalling weather conditions of driving rain and snow, which turned the run route in to a mudbath, the girls finished in 8th and 9th place respectively in the TS3 age group (13/14 years).
It was Rachel’s first aquathlon and quite an experience for her – rest assured she probably wont have to race in such awful conditions again so things can only get better! Both girls will be racing again on 24 March in the BCT junior aquathlon, the first race in the 2012 West Midlands Children’s Aquathlon Series.
Nice to see the juniors out running in club kit and raising the junior section’s profile. A big well done to both of them fior braving the elements!
