We should be ok for swimming this Saturday 25th May at Upton Warren. I am told the algae has gone and its back to lovely clear water. Should be warming up nicely too!
The Wednesday sessions are starting Weds 29th May 6.30-8.30 same cost and safety cover.

We have been told that there is a large bloom of blue green algae on the lake and advised that no swimming should take place. Blue green algae can be very harmful if ingested so we think this is a wise precaution.
I am told it will usually disperse by wind/wave action but as of Friday afternoon it is in quite a large patch.
In our 4 year operation this is the first time this has happened thankfully and let’s hope the last!

I have been told the water temperature is warming up so we should be in for a good session.

Due to BTF rules around water temperature, swimmers safety and the lifeguards comfort we are postponing the first open water swim by a week in the hope the water temperature goes from very chilly to a bit chilly.

Our popular open water sessions at Upton Warren are starting Saturday 5th May. Full details, costs, paperwork are on the website.
This year we will also be running a session in Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 8.30PM from mid May to August (dates tbc)
Water safety will once again be provided by Redditch Lifeguards and the venue has parking, warm showers and is close (3 mins) to J5 of the M5
